That’s how I feel every single day now. But I didn’t always feel that way. Not at all. There were times in my life that left me wondering if it would ever get any better. I went through two divorces, multiple moves, deep financial debt, and employment challenges in my twenties and early thirties. And then I had a devastating health crisis when I was 34 years old.
Coming so close to death gave me a major wake-up call. It shifted my perspective in all areas of life and helped me focus on the parts that were meaningful, positive, and empowering. I no longer had time, energy, or desire to be in situations unless they were uplifting and inspiring. I chose to be around people who loved me. I chose to be in places that nourished my spirit. I chose circumstances and events that were fulfilling. No time for nonsense or drama—not anymore.
At that point I also decided that making a difference in the world was what touched my heart the deepest. I started reading every book, listening to every tape, and watching every video I could find on how to live a happier, healthier, and more meaningful life. Throughout this process I kept dozens of journals recording my own journey from feeling lost and defeated to gradually finding my voice and making strides forward.
Many of those journal passages were woven together to create my first book, The Mustard Seed Way, which was published in 2000. This book has provided comfort and support to thousands of people over the years, and recently it was ranked in the top 20 success and motivation books on Amazon.com.
After the publication of my first book, I continued my spiritual quest. I became an ordained interfaith minister through the New Seminary in New York City, earned a Ph.D. in metaphysics from the American Institute of Holistic Theology, and became certified in raw food nutrition at the Ann Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico. All the while, I worked at a major bank in NY and climbed the corporate ladder to eventually become a first vice president.
Then, in 2011, I decided to commit myself full-time to the pursuit of my dreams. I left my beautiful office and corporate title, moved out of New York to a house deep in the woods of the Smoky Mountains, married a wonderful man, and published my second book, Wholarian Vision: How to Remember Your Connection to Everything.
Now I speak to audiences across the country. And through social media and my website, I share my vision and insights with people around the world. People are inspired to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives every day simply because I chose to set my goals, pursue my dreams, and live with passion. I didn’t let my past dictate who I was or will be. And more exciting things are on the way! So stay tuned.
Currently, my husband Peter and I are living on a beautiful farm in Kentucky with four cats and four dogs. Along with our writing and speaking engagements, we also love growing our own organic veggies, taking long walks, and living a simple life.
So … you can see why I say I’m blessed. I give thanks every single day. I wouldn’t change anything that happened to me, no matter how difficult, because everything brought me to this very moment.
Sending you love, hugs, and blessings,
